This week, we are focusing on the healthy habit of technology usage during meal times and before bed. We live in the age of technology and are constantly surrounded by it all the time... but did you know that excessive technology usage has the potential to negatively impact your sleep?

Here are just 2 facts about technology that inhibits the body's normal function when it comes to sleep.

#1 - Exposure to blue light from screens in the evening can interfere with the body's production of melatonin, the hormone responsible for regulating sleep, making it harder to fall asleep.

#2 - Using screens right before bed can contribute to poor sleep quality and insomnia, due to the stimulating nature of screens and the disruption of the circadian rhythm.

We challenge you to limit your technology usage over the next 5 days. Avoid using your phone or watching television during meal times AND for 1 hour leading up to bedtime.
